Thredbo Village

A year-round holiday destination. Thredbo is situated 500km (313 miles) south of Sydney, 500km north of Melbourne and 180km south of Canberra. It is around a 6 hour drive from Sydney or Melbourne. Thredbo Skiing and Boarding

Thredbo is a natural location for a ski resort with its high elevation, which means snow. In fact, Thredbo with the highest lifted point in Australia, is just a snow flurry from Mt Kosciusko, the highest peak in Australia. This means the snow tends to start sooner and last longer.

Thredbo provides a wide variety of skiable slopes from beginner to advanced. The world class resort offers an interesting variety in its choice of skiable terrain. When you head for the ski slopes you discover one of the best ski areas in the Southern hemisphere.

Thredbo's lift system is known for its efficiency and speed due to four state-of-the-art quad chairs.

Thredbo offers the highest skiing and longest runs anywhere in Australia, 5 kilometres from the top of Karels lift to Friday Flat. The total vertical drop of 672 metres is nearly twice that of nearby resorts. You are offered long and varied supertrails to accommodate both the intermediate and advanced skier.

New Skiers and Boarders

Thredbo has a purpose built beginners area called Friday Flat enabling first time skiers and snowboarders to advanced to intermediate level without having to encounter a daunting T-bar. Like other resorts Friday Flat has an easy gradient of 12 degrees and it is acknowledged as the ideal learning slope. The 'Easy Does It' chair lift access in this area is a low speed quad chair and as the name sugests is easy on and easy off for the first time or beginner skier.

Thredboland

Thredboland is a purpose-built children's facility at the base of Friday Flat where a new three-stage escalator on the snow helps beginners climb uphill without effort. Thredboland instructors love to teach 3-6 year olds. They are specially trained to ensure your children learn to ski in a safe unique and fun environment
